Petrochemical sites run hot, run continuously and run under COMAH. Ageing assets, corrosion under insulation, hazardous-area restrictions and unforgiving turnaround windows mean the work has to be right first time, by people who understand the environment they are standing in. BESAT delivers that work on refineries, chemical plants and processing facilities across the UK.
Our core strength is self-delivered industrial services. Directly-employed insulation and cladding, scaffolding and access, protective coatings and painting, mechanical and electrical, and heat tracing teams carry out the fabric maintenance, thermal performance and integrity works that keep process plant efficient, protected and safe to operate — with our own supervision and our own quality control on site.
Around those trades sits a full engineering and services business: multi-discipline engineering and plant modifications, procurement and specialist equipment supply, project and construction management, commissioning, and quality and SHEQ management. It means we can take a scope from survey and design through installation to documented handover under a single point of responsibility, or slot into your existing team and framework arrangements.
We are equally at home in planned turnarounds and shutdowns, supporting the planning and preparation stage, taking on outage management, or mobilising the critical trades needed during the window itself. All works are delivered within site permit-to-work, hazardous-area and process-safety requirements, with health, safety, quality and environmental management led from within our own team.

Scaffolding & Access
Design, erection, inspection and dismantling of scaffolding and temporary access — including complex, confined and elevated arrangements for live plant and turnarounds.
Protective Coatings & Painting
Surface preparation, blasting and application of protective and high-temperature coating systems to vessels, pipework and steelwork, extending asset life in corrosive environments.

How We Work
Our own crews, our own supervision, one accountable partner.
Petrochemical work is won or lost on the ground. We directly employ our insulation, scaffolding, coatings, mechanical, electrical and heat tracing operatives and supervise them with our own management, so competence, briefing and quality control sit with us rather than a chain of subcontractors. Every scope is planned around the site's permit-to-work, isolation and hazardous-area requirements, with inspection and test plans, documentation traceability and SHEQ management applied from the first survey to final handover. Around the trades we can add engineering, procurement, project controls and commissioning, so clients can take a single package under one point of responsibility — or simply call on the specific trades they need, when they need them.
